Tagging for Alliant 3

Modified on Tue, 24 Sep at 6:00 PM

Tagging in Symphony is like using the “Find” feature in a document.

Users can use text that is in a document or add a note/comment to the PDF (See Figure 1).
(See Tagging Documents outside Symphony)

The text in the document or the comment area is wording users add to the tag field in Symphony.

Figure 1. The Tagging feature in Symphony relates to Comment tools in other programs

For example: An organization has a scope document (scopeDoc.PDF) for a specific past performance that validates the organization’s claims for artificial intelligence, demonstrates “Cost Reimbursement,” and shows OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) – Foreign performance.

In documents where these claims are validated, a user would:

  • Select a keyword from the text

        -or-

  • Add a sticky note/comment with a word that could be used in the tag field in Symphony.

The user would then upload the document in the respective project that has been prepared with the following tags (See Figure 2):

  1. Emerging Technology - TAG: “Artificial Intelligence” (Directly from the document)
  2. Cost Reimbursement - TAG: “CR” (Added as a sticky note)
  3. OCONUS – Foreign performance - TAG: “OCONUS” (Added as a sticky note)

Figure 2. Upload all Project Documents to My Company, Projects/Past Performance

When completing data elements in Symphony, the user would select scopeDoc.PDF in the dropdown menu and add the corresponding tag text in the place provided for each claim (See Figure 3). (See Tagging Documents for Submission

Figure 3. Referencing a tagged document and entering the tag is available in the
Submission > Projects/Past Performance > Project > Performance Factors

For each scoring element, an index can be attached as a cover page to the evidence document

pdf file to direct evaluators. These should be uploaded with the project documents (See Figure 2).

Why do we do this?

  • To help the evaluators validate an organization’s claims with greater ease.
  • To help the offeror guide evaluators to pertinent facts and spare organizations from having to read through 100-page documents to locate relevant information.
