Follow these instructions to tag your documents outside Symphony.
1. Access the Tag Legend
To help evaluators find the exact location(s) where you are validating your project claims, please tag your documents using the Symphony Tag Legend for your Project Details (See Figure 1). The Tag Legend is a list of keywords you can find by following these steps.
- Start in My Company.
- Select the Projects/Past Performance tab.
- Select +New Project Experience or an existing Project.
- Go to step 2: Upload All Your Project Documents.
- Click the link to view the Tags Legend.
Figure 1. Link to the Symphony Tag Legend
Symphony will direct evaluators to the comments in your documents that match the Symphony Tag Legend when they review your project details.
You can add more tags of your choosing for your proposals. These tags are considered unique to solicitations and they are at your discretion.
2. Activate the Comment and Markup Tools
Many different versions of PDF Software are acceptable.
- You can use any method to add comments to your document and meet the solicitation requirements (See Figure 2).
- Adobe features like Tags, Bookmarks, and Portfolio files are not recommended and may not work for evaluation.

3. Tag your Evidence
The Symphony Tag Legend only applies to the project details in your Company assets because these are reusable (See Figure 3). Symphony will direct the evaluators to the exact location(s) in your document(s) with the tag you use.
- You do not have to use all the Symphony tags. You can use more.
- The recommended tags are optional and do not apply to all Solicitation(s).
- Use the solicitation as a guide to the project details to cite.
Figure 3. Symphony recommended tags for your Project Details
Symphony supports adding text before or after the comment (tag) in your supporting documents. For example "POP start" and "POP end" (See Figure 4). Evaluators will search for POP and find both occurrences in one or more selected reference document(s).

4. Save Your PDF Document
Once you have “tagged” your document, save your work.
5. Match Your Tags in Symphony
After completing your comments, upload your “tagged” PDF to Symphony. Use the My Company link and the Projects/Past Performance tab to upload all supporting documents to the selected project.
The additional tags you create are added to the projects you select for your proposal Submission.
- Start or Continue your proposal Submission and select your Projects/Past Performance.
- Begin or Modify the Performance Factors (See Figure 5) to enter your comment's keywords in the "Location in the File" field.
