Before registering as a Symphony Administrator for a company, follow these steps to verify the Point of Contact (POC) role at the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website.
1. Verify Points of Contact Role at SAM.gov
Note: SAM.gov Points of Contact are considered Symphony Administrators. | Figure 1. SAM Entity Records |
2. Download SAM record
After registering in Symphony, POCs must Submit a ticket and provide the SAM.gov UEI along with a copy of the POC information so that we can verify access.
- The documentation must show the Point of Contact's name and email address and the UEI.
- If the user's name is not listed as a POC, they should Register as a Business User.
3. Register in Symphony
Make sure the correct contract vehicle website is accessed and use the Register Now link on the Symphony Sign In page (see Figure 2). SAM.gov Points of Contact (POCs) are the only authorized users for an organization in Symphony.
Email Requirements:

Symphony is not affiliated with SAM.gov but uses it solely to verify an active entity's information and eligibility to do business with the government. An entity with an "ID assigned" does not yet have an active SAM record and cannot be added to Symphony.
4. Acknowledge the Checklist
Before registering, ensure that all the required information is ready (see Figure 3).

- A company cannot share its data with another company under separate registrations.
Verify the information retrieved from SAM is accurate before proceeding.
