To register with Symphony as a government user, follow the instructions below. (An instructional video on this topic is also available at the bottom of the page).

2. Enter a Government Email Address

Enter an email address ending in a .gov or .mil domain.

  • Symphony will send a verification email. If it isn't received within a few minutes, the user should check their spam folder (see Figure 2).

To re-enter the email address, click the Cancel button.

3. Enter the Validation Code

Copy the validation code from the Symphony email and enter it in the browser to continue.

  • If the Symphony email doesn't arrive, try resending it.
  • Ensure there are no extra spaces when entering the validation code because it will cause an error.

4. Acknowledge the Checklist

Answer the questions in the Symphony checklist that appears (see Figure 3). (See Multi-Factor Authentication for information about the checklist).

5. Select a Role

Symphony displays up to four options for using the platform when the roles are configured. Choose one (see Figure 4).

6. Enter the Contracting Office Code

Input the Federal Procurement Data System-Next Generation (FPDS-NG) Contracting Office AAC (Activity Address Code) or search by entering
  • Department Name

  • Agency Name

  • Contracting Office

and click LOOKUP ORGANIZATION (see Figure 5).

7. Confirm Your Organization

Using the YES button confirms that the information displayed is correct and an organization is authorized to access Symphony. Clicking NO returns the registration to the previous step.

8. Configure the Account and Password

Usernames are email addresses. The user should enter their first and last name, and create a password that meets Symphony's requirements. (See Signing in to Symphony for credential requirements).

Clicking Cancel at this point stops registration.

9. Configure the Multi-Factor Authentication Method

Symphony requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for registration and signing in. The MFA code validates this step (see Figure 3).

  • Choose either a time-based authenticator app or SMS for the six-digit MFA code (see Figure 3).
  • The MFA code validates this step (see Figure 3).
  • If a user has an international phone number, they must use an authenticator app. See Smartphone Apps for MFA or MFA Browser Extensions
If MFA setup is incomplete, contact us for an MFA reset.

10. Registration is Complete

A confirmation page displays after a successful registration. Once that occurs, the user can sign in from Symphony's main page.
