MFA FAQ

The following are some frequently asked questions regarding Symphony Multi-Factor Authentication.

What Authenticator App is recommended?

Google Authenticator is recommended for retrieving the six-digit codes each time users sign into Symphony because it is free, easy to use, and supports multiple accounts. 

Where is my text message code?

SMS (text message) delivery of the six-digit code can be unreliable if that is the configured method. 

• Check for a code in an authenticator app.
• Disabling Wi-Fi may help speed up the delivery of the text code if it takes more than 2-3 minutes to arrive.

How is the MFA method changed?

The QR code can be retrieved in the Symphony profile (see Updating Profile Information).

If access to Symphony is not possible at the MFA step, submit a ticket with the following information (see Figure 1):

1. Select the Contract Vehicle to identify the website
2. Select MFA
3. Select the preference: QR code or Text Message
4. Include the name of the App or a phone number and wireless carrier for text messages.

Can MFA codes be sent via email?

Email codes are not allowed due to security requirements. 

Users with international phone numbers must use an authenticator app (See Smartphone Apps for MFA or MFA Browser Extensions).

Why is my MFA code incorrect?

If the code is expired or does not match the Symphony registration, submit a ticket.
